POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

 

Job Title                       :           GENERAL MANAGER, SALES AND MARKETING

Responsible For            :           National Retail, Marketing, Direct Marketing,

                                                Product Managers

 

Location                       :           National Mail Centre, Piarco

 

 

POSITION SCOPE:

 

The General Manager, Sales and Marketing directs and leads the Sales and Marketing team to provide customer solutions and achieve the Division’s Business Plan objectives and targets in support of the overall goals of TTPost.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Ø  Ensures that overall volume, revenue and profit targets are achieved and all key products and services are actively managed

 

Ø  Participates and actively contributes to the leadership and strategic direction of TTPost as a member of the Senior Management Team

 

Ø  Maintains expenditure within budget and continuously monitors, reviews and improves efficiencies in Sales and Marketing

 

Ø  Maximizes revenue opportunities, spearheading initiatives to expand TTPost’s market share, and improve customer retention, satisfaction and relationship management

 

Ø  Ensures that new and potential products are identified and launches and existing products are re-engineered to meet current and likely future market demands

 

Ø  Ensures the integrity of pricing and discounting structures and processes

 

Ø  Implements approved policies and procedures to prevent revenue leakages

 

Ø  Assures an effective and efficient sales process is in place (using appropriate channels to target customers)

 

Ø  Co-ordinates and works with other relevant internal parties to improve the total customer experience

 

Ø  Ensures that corporate communication is implemented and promotes TTPost’s positive public image

 

Ø  Ensures that advertising and promotion programmes achieve the specified objectives

 

Ø  Ensures that Sales and Marketing is properly resourced to achieve its strategic and operational goals and that the requisite employee performance review, training, development and succession plans are aligned

 

Ø  Communicates TTPost’s vision, goals and targets to Sales and Marketing employees, ensuring that Managers operationalize plans into practical performance metrics by department and/or at the individual level

 

Ø  Ensures that HR policies and practices, and in particular good industrial relations practices, compliant with the collective bargaining process are followed

 

Ø  Leads and directs assigned workforce, monitoring, appraising, motivating and disciplining as required

 

Ø  Monitors and ensures adherence to health, safety and environmental rules, regulations and guidelines

 

Ø  Performs other related duties that may be required by the job function

 

 

 


 

POSITION SPECIFICATION:

 

Ø  EDUCATION                 

·       A Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies, Business Management or Marketing

 

·       Post-graduate qualifications in Business or Marketing would be an asset

 

Ø  EXPERIENCE

·       At least ten (10) years of progressive experience in the development of marketing strategies, plans and programmes, five (5) of which must be at a senior management level
