JOB PURPOSE:

To oversee the functions and staff of the Collections Unit. Assist the Line Manager in ensuring that the Company’s collections policies are adhered to; Collections goals achieved; and that accurate customer records and reporting procedures are maintain



POSITION REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration

  • Post graduate training in debt collection, credit management/credit analysis

5 years Credit/Collections management experience
3 years at supervisory level

Review the accounts assigned to the Collections Officers’ portfolio on a monthly/quarterly basis (as determined appropriate), to ensure consistent and timely follow up, and that the agreed collections targets are being met. Where necessary provide the appropriate coaching

. Generate and review delinquency reports, stipulated returns and statistics on departmental operations, and where necessary recommend strategies to achieve/improve performance targets and efficiencies..

 Ensure that all aspects of the Mortgagee Sale process (up to and including litigation) are undertaken in a consistent and timely manner

 Ensure that the allocation of the accounts in arrears among the Collections Officers for action and follow up, are in accordance with the agreed departmental plans

Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of reports to external agencies, e.g. Home Mortgage Bank (HMB),
Transunion & other Automated Credit Bureau’s (ACB) etc.

Ensure consistent and timely communication to staff regarding changes in policies, procedures, and guidelines

Ensure that good relations are maintained and developed with external agencies to promote smooth and efficient delivery of service to our mutual customers
